Our Special Care Program is designed to enhance the lives of older adults with memory impairment by designing the physical environment, the structured dementia-specific activities program, and the personal care to best suit their individual needs. By presenting residents with the opportunity to succeed within a framework of care and activities, Brookstone of Woodruff’s Special Care Program promotes positive self-esteem for all residents and therefore helps to reduce behaviors that can result from negative emotions and inappropriate stimulation levels. Specially trained staff members will work closely with the resident’s physician(s), family, community members, friends, and support systems to provide a safe, secure, nurturing environment that will welcome family interaction and enhance the residents’ lives.
If you’re in a position where you think a family member could benefit from memory care, you probably have a lot of questions about what the future holds. Even though making the decision to pursue professional care is a difficult one, it isn’t something you have to do all on your own. We’re here to help you understand all of your options so you make the decision that’s best for you and your family. Many people have misconceptions about what life is like at a memory care community. They think it might be a sad or lonely environment. But in reality, many of the residents who live in our memory care communities have a full and rich life. In addition to having access to quality care, they get to spend their days surrounded by kind and compassionate care team members, a community of interesting residents and fun-filled activities that help them continue to live with purpose and meaning.
